About Yes
With a background in both primary and secondary NHS care, and a deep-rooted passion for supporting women’s mental health, we offer tailored psychological therapy for those experiencing emotional and psychological challenges associated with menopause and perimenopause.
The hormonal shifts that come with this life stage can be subtle yet deeply impactful, affecting not only the body, but also emotional wellbeing, self-identity, relationships, and professional life. It can feel overwhelming, confusing, and at times even frightening.
You may be wondering:
- Why do I feel so low or anxious when I never used to?
- Is this stress, or something more?
- Am I the only one feeling like this?
Fear, shame, embarrassment of what am I experiencing can cause suffering and impact on mental health and wellbeing.
Relationships can alter, work, family and self-identity shifts. Low mood and excruciating anxiety that may never have been experienced previously can start to have crippling effects on self-esteem and confidence.
Brain fog, poor sleep, aching hips, weight shifting, hair loss, night sweats, flushing, dry eyes, vaginal dryness, spots, all subtle but can be confusing, frustrating and distressing.
The menopause journey starting from peri is a unique journey to every individual woman.
One treatment package will not suit all, so a tailored approach to that woman and her life circumstances and the impact of her set of symptoms is how therapy can be approached to provide an exclusive package of strategies and care.
You are not alone—and you’re not “going mad.” The psychological effects of hormonal changes are real and valid. I offer a compassionate, confidential space to make sense of what you’re experiencing, and to work with you in developing strategies that are meaningful, manageable, and unique to your personal journey.
- Low mood, anxiety, irritability, and panic
- Brain fog and loss of concentration
- Changes in self-esteem and confidence
- Sleep issues and physical discomfort
- Relationship and role changes
- Emotional overwhelm, shame, or isolation
We offer evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), recommended by NICE guidelines as part of menopause care—either alongside HRT or as a standalone treatment, combined with counselling to provide a supportive approach which is individualised, recognising that no two menopause journeys are the same.
- Understanding the mind-body impact of hormonal changes
- Tools to manage anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, and intrusive thoughts
- Compassion-focused strategies to reduce self-criticism and rebuild confidence
- Communication tools to support relationships at home and at work
- The wider life context—caring responsibilities, work pressures, financial concerns, shifting identities
Together, we work towards restoring a sense of control, reconnecting with your self-worth, and regaining a sense of 'you'.
While we can’t stop the symptoms, we can reduce their impact on your life and build your resilience to cope with the challenges that arise.
If you'd like to explore how we might work together, feel free to reach out via email. I'm happy to answer any questions or discuss your individual needs.
I really look forward to hearing from you.
